Non-Core Rocks
PLC is all about collaborating and using date to drive your instruction. As a non-core teacher that is what has driven my instruction. I use what the students can and can not do as a building block for their education. I have been given the privilege to study and teach about PLC to all the non-core teachers in my district.
This week we had a great turn out for Collaborative time. We all brought in a lesson to evaluate as a team. The business teacher brought her whole unit on investing. She had some great ideas on the subject and how she shared them with her classes. They use Yahoo financial to track some stocks. A suggestions was given to use M & M's for the whole semester as an investment game for the students. They would be allowed to invest their candy and take some out (dividends). The teacher loved the idea and thought that could be implemented into her future classes. This is what it all about. Love helping teachers teach to kids.
